Join us for SCMN on 5 September for an insightful session led by Luke Bowen, a leader in patient safety and clinical excellence at Austin Health. Learn from his extensive experience as he outlines key principles for delivering high-quality spiritual care.

The presentation will be followed by a Q&A session, as well as an opportunity to participate in breakout sessions with your peers to discuss and reflect on the topic presented.

In addition, we will share SHA’s latest updates and developments.

About the Presenter: Luke Bowen is the Director of Patient Safety, Experience and Clinical Excellence, at Austin Health in Heidelberg Victoria. Luke holds undergraduate degrees in criminology and theology, a Master’s in Pastoral Care, a Master of Business Administration and a Graduate Certificate in Clinical Governance. He is the current Board Chair of Spiritual Health Association, a role held since 2017. Luke is also an Associate Fellow with the Australasian College for Health Service Management, a member of the Australasian Institute for Clinical Governance and an Associate Lecturer in Practical Theology at the University of Divinity.

About SCMN: The Spiritual Care Management Network (SCMN) is comprised of directors, managers, and coordinators of spiritual care in health services and is facilitated by Spiritual Health Association staff.

The network provides a forum for discussing current and pressing issues, enabling important conversations among management from different states working in various settings. This engagement keeps SHA informed of the critical issues in the sector, which we recognise and address strategically as the peak body for spiritual care in healthcare.

Topics are regularly incorporated based on survey responses to tailor them to the network’s needs, with a view to engaging more health service managers.

Sharing our experiences, innovations, and advocacy journeys with one another fosters knowledge, encouragement, and ongoing support for current and emerging leaders.
