Pastoral Care Lead - Ambulance Victoria

Ambulance Victoria AV has an exciting opportunity to join Wellbeing & Support Services (WSS). AV now welcome applications for a Pastoral Care Lead to join our team on a permanent on-going basis at the Doncaster Headquarters.
The Pastoral Care Lead is responsible for the coordination of the pastoral care/chaplaincy program, all policies, procedures and relevant legislation to AV's core business ensuring the program is appropriately resourced and accessible to AV employees, volunteers and their immediate family members who may be dealing with personal issues and who may need to access faith-based, spiritual, pastoral care or welfare services in the broader community.

The focus of the role is to ensure that advice on the pastoral care factors of spiritual and religion, culture and faith are relevant to AV staff and volunteers and ensure that training and support for the pastoral care team are coordinated across the AV volunteer pastoral care and chaplaincy services state-wide.

About the role
Reporting to the Manager, Peer & Pastoral Care, the responsibilities of this position will include, but are not limited to:
*  Activate and coordinate a team of staff and volunteers providing pastoral care/chaplaincy services.
*  Provide advice, support and recommendations to Managers on operational factors that have religious, faith based and pastoral care implications and handle these sensitively and confidentially.
*  Participate in the recruitment and selection of members of the pastoral care team of staff and volunteers, and ensure processes are in place to support the recruitment and selection state-wide.
*  Support existing and/or new initiatives and projects in Wellbeing and Support Services.
*  Assist in the development and implementation of systems and processes to monitor the performance and effectiveness of pastoral care across the State.
*  Provide reports to assist in monitoring program effectiveness and identify trends and developments.
*  Promote the Pastoral Care Program to AV staff, retired and former employees and their immediate families to ensure they know what is available and how to access the program.

About you
*  The successful candidate will have nationally recognised qualification and training qualifications and experience working in social work, counselling, ministry and/or pastoral care, chaplaincy and/or other wellbeing support services and programs/projects in emergency or health services or a defence environment plus trauma support, bereavement care, counselling or clinical pastoral education.
*  You will have high level communication and interpersonal skills to enable effective interaction with staff and key stakeholders.
*  Your relationship and team building skills will help you to develop strong and collaborative relationships and rapport with internal and external stakeholders and give you the ability to enhance and grow team relationships across a staff and volunteer pastoral care network.
*  You are an exceptional planner and organiser who is able to establish the priority and scheduling of work tasks and projects to ensure work priorities are completed in a timely manner.

*  The successful candidate must have a current Victorian Driver's License and be willing to travel throughout metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria when required. Successful applicants will also need to complete a Police Check.

AV has introduced salary bands and this position is graded at AV5.1.  The AV grade salary range for an AV5 position is $116,916 to $138,214 plus 9.5% superannuation and CAA on-call allowance. The expectation is that employees will commence at the base of the grade applicable to a position.
