Spiritual Health Lived Experience Network ‘Meet and Greet’ event

This event was an opportunity for people who support the vision of the Spiritual Health Lived Experience Advisory Committee (SHLEAC) to come together and share their stories, motivations and hopes for mental health system reform across Australia. Ten members from three different states were represented on the evening, indicating that whilst we are based in Victoria, the work SHLEAC is doing is resonating with others across Australia.

Both consumer and carer perspectives were represented and themes that emerged included the fundamental role spirituality has played in personal recovery journeys, yet it is the one support that is consistently ignored in mental health service provision. Many wonderful ideas and initiatives were expressed on the night that centre around a more hope filled future. These will be taken back to the next SHLEAC Committee meeting in June for review and prioritisation in setting goals for the next twelve months.

Eligible and interested people who would like to support the work of SHLEAC and join the broader Spiritual Health Lived Experience Network are welcome to register here.
