Heartfelt Thanks & What's Ahead for SHA

As we bring our most recent advocacy campaign for government funding to a close, we would like to say a huge 'Thank you!' to each and every one of you who joined our cause. As we navigate the challenges before us, SHA is actively laying the groundwork for a future filled with multiple new paths, and we are genuinely excited to introduce a new membership model that promises to bring us closer to our vision, with Dorothy Donaldson leading the way as our new Business Development and Partnerships Leader.

As we bring our most recent advocacy campaign for government funding to a close, we are filled with gratitude and hope. While we have not yet had the outcome we were wanting, this journey has deepened our commitment to spiritual care in health and brought us closer together as a community. We remain committed to pursuing every avenue available to us to ensure this work continues.

A huge thank you to each and every one of you who joined our cause—your enthusiasm, your voices, and your unwavering support have shone brightly, highlighting the indispensable role of spiritual care in holistic health and wellbeing, as well as the importance of spiritual care that is safe, high-quality, inclusive and consistent.

SHA gratefully acknowledges support received from:

  • Leading metropolitan and regional health services advocating on our behalf.
  • Faith communities through signing our Priorities for Investment and Impact Statement.
  • Individual spiritual care practitioners and the general public through writing to MPs, initiating conversations within their networks, and sharing our social media posts.
  • ASACPEV and CPE providers writing to the government and raising awareness.
  • Over 15 MPs and government officials lobbying for our interests.
  • Multiple media outlets through radio and press interviews in support of our cause.

As we navigate the challenges before us, Spiritual Health Association is actively laying the groundwork for a future filled with multiple new paths. Among these developments we are genuinely excited to introduce a significant stride forward for spiritual care in health: a new membership model that promises to bring us closer to our vision. With Dorothy Donaldson leading the way as our new Business Development and Partnerships Leader, these initiatives are more than just a change—it's a commitment to ensure spiritual care remains a vital part of healthcare across Australia. It's about creating a sustainable future for our work and deepening the impact we can make together.

Keep an eye out for updates on our new membership model and how you can join us in this promising next chapter.
